Amnesia is the loss of memory. This condition may result from health problems or events in life, such as an accident. It may result from damage to the brain from injuries, including head injury, stroke, or a result of disease, such as alcohol, or chronic drug abuse or psychological trauma or stress.

Most often amnesia is caused by a head injury called a concussion. A concussion is defined as a temporary loss of consciousness due to head trauma. Following a concussion people feel dazed. In cases of severe concussion, people may suffer seizures, but this is not very common. The amnesia associated with concussions is such that the victim only forgets what happened to them just prior to the head trauma. Generally, the amnesia lasts only seconds to minutes, but in cases of severe trauma, the amnesia may involve weeks to months of the victim not remembering anything. This can be very disconcerting for the person. The amnesia gradually gets resolved from more distant to more recent memories. Sometimes small bits and pieces will remain forgotten or foggy. Amnesia in no way consists of a person going through life a mere ghost of a person, not knowing who they are or where they come from or any family members. For the most part, amnesia is always temporary and very limited.

In some cases, the victim of head trauma may become hysterical. This is what we call hysterical posttraumatic amnesia. This in an uncommon thing. This particular condition is characterized by abnormalities of behavior, including disorganized recounting of events, that cannot be recalled later, such as, forgetting one's own name, and bizarre mood swings. The only good thing about this is that it usually resolves quickly and leaves no permanent loss.

After a blow to the head, if there is prolonged unconsciousness and/or vomiting, a concussion should be suspected and the person should seek immediate medical attention. Do not drive if you suspect you have a concussion.

One of the places that I like to go most is Ireland. I don't know why, but there's something about Ireland that really pulls me to it. Maybe it's mysteriosity in folklore, or maybe those beautiful, green hills.
I hope that one day I will go and visit that place. Ireland is a website on about the fares of travelling to Ireland. There is also some additional information on the country, its hotels, folklore and everything else that a normal visitor would be curious about.

I love flowers. I have promised to myself that when I grow up and have my own house, I'll dedicate 1 hour everyday to my garden, give my soul and heart to it so it radiates my love through the blazing of the bold colors my flowers will behold. Today I wasn't in such a good mood so as usual I decided to go to google (my best friend....lol) and research about anything that came to my mind. Flowers were the first to come since it's january and spring will be knocking at the door pretty soon. So....as I said I started researching about flowers and found that every flower had a meaning.

Some things on melatonin.

Yesterday, while waiting outside in the waiting room for my friend Ada to finish her visit with the doctor, I was reading a few pages from the book that I got for Ada's mom. The book talked about how we can heal ourselves by increasing the levels of melatonin. A number of diseases such as cancer, high and low cholesterol, insomnia and I don't remember how many others, were in the list of those that can be healed if the proper ways of increasing the levels of melatonin were used. I chose to post this here so my friend Idlir, who is also Ada's brother, can find something about melatonin and how this can help to sleep more since he suffers from insomnia. Let's hope you will read this Liri and do something about that disturbance of yours....meaning that you can't put yourself to sleep during the night. So....have fun reading it cause it's really informative in effective and productive ways.

Black Holes......anyone knows what they are? Let me illuminate you on this particular subject. Every monday I have my boundaries of science class, which by the way is 3-hour class, and we started talking about astronomy which lead to black holes. Now...."a black hole is the most powerful, most mysterious phenomenon in the universe. The gravity within a black hole is so intense that not even light, the fastest object we know of, can escape its force. A black hole is so dense that 100 million suns would be compressed to a globe 6 million kilometers in diameter. Our sun is only 1,390,000 kilometers in diameter. You get the picture. It is even theorized that there is a super-massive black hole at the center of every galaxy. These black holes have a single point called a singularity that supposedly has infinite mass. Therefore a black hole could conceivably swallow an entire solar system in seconds if the event horizon could expand that quickly. These giant, destructive, mysterious beasts are the most complex puzzles in the universe."

Vulpicula....is the wrong-spelled version of the word vulpecula which is a star constellation.
I chose this word as a name for my website for the reason that in many ways it reminds of me. Albeit I can't explain it how, I can say that it's a childhood thing that I've had with star constellations. A connection I might say. It is interesting enough for me that the first three letters of the word vulpecula, are the same as my zodiac planet which is vulcano. See what I mean???
